November 29, 2016 – The Israeli sensor company and the UK car parts company will develop self-driving systems using Intel’s chips.
Israeli collision avoidance sensor developer Mobileye (NYSE: MBLY), has teamed with auto parts maker Delphi Automotive Plc and Intel in self-driving cars to be manufactured by 2019, the companies have announced.
Jerusalem-based Mobileye and Intel announced a similar partnership in July with German car manufacturer BMW for serial production of self-driving cars by 2021.
Intel will provide a “system on chip” for the self-driving car systems that Delphi and Mobileye are developing together, Glen De Vos, Delphi’s VP engineering, told “Reuters.”
