September 22, 2016, 18:23:39 – For the first time in 16 years, the GoforIsrael business conference was not held in Israel, but in Shanghai. Over 200 Israeli participants traveled to China to meet with 1,000 local investors and partners. Among them, 100 are high-tech companies, with about half of them giving one-minute “speed dating” style presentations to investors.
“We hope to do some matchmaking between the Israeli companies and the Chinese investors,” said Edouard Cukierman, managing partner of Catalyst CEL Fund, one of the organizers of the conference.
“They are the state of art companies in their sectors such as medical device, biotechnologies and green technologies. Some of them have been very successful in the US and Europe. For them, the conference is a good opportunity to identify the right strategic partners and meet with local partners.”
Israeli representatives said they firmly believe in China’s innovative potential. Matan Vilnai, Ambassador of the State of Israel to China, believes that it’s only a matter of time that China will become the first in the world of innovation.
“Currently, China invests $200 billion in R&D every year. Over 2,500 R&D centers are opening every year in China,” he said at the conference….Read More>>
