Globes: NY conference to portray Israel as island of stability
10 September 12 18:44–Today, Minister of Finance Yuval Steinitz opened the “Innovate. Invest. Israel” conference in New York to encourage investment in the country. “The Wall Street Journal” is the conference’s joint sponsor. The Ministry of Finance said that the conference covered macroeconomic issues, and presents Israel as a test case of a stable economy in a stormy global market. Topics will include R&D, Israel as an innovator of breakthrough technologies, start-ups, and leading companies traded on Wall Street.
The Ministry of Finance says that the conference is intended to attract foreign investment to Israel, after the drop in investment in recent months, according to Central Bureau of Statistics data. The conference is also intended to brand the Israeli economy as an island of stability and innovation, by presenting its capabilities and advantages. The conference will present unique investment opportunities in the life sciences, energy, high tech, and finance.
