5 September 12 20:21–Just as the new season in the European football leagues gets underway, social games company Zynga is gaining a first foothold in this area through a gambling game called Sports Casino, behind which is Israeli start up RocketPlay.

Behind the Israeli company are the Honigstein brothers: Mani, formerly an investment manager at venture capital firm Pitango, and Raphael, a sports journalist who writes for German newspapers. They founded the company in 2008 as Footbo. At the time, it was a social network for football fans, but in 2010 the company changed its name to Gamingo, under which it was known until yesterday, and switched focus to fantasy games, in collaboration with media outlets such as Fox Sports.
