Ynet: Average salary down 0.8% in April

07.06.12, 07:47–The average gross monthly salary of Israeli employees has dropped by 0.8% in April, reaching NIS 8,881 ($2,266), the Central Bureau of Statistics reported Thursday. The number of hired employees in the country totaled 3.063 million.
Employees of the Israel Electric Corp. and Mekorot, the national water company, were deemed the best-paid workers in April; their salaries averaged NIS 27,723 ($7,075) a month. Financial services employees earned NIS 16,905 ($4,314) on average that month, while workers in the manufacturing industry were paid NIS 12,397 ($3,164).
