Globes: Teva to pay $250m to settle Propofol suits

February 22, 2012–Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) will be forced to pay over $250 million to settle more than 80 lawsuits filed against it relating to the anesthetic Propofol. The claims against Teva charge that Propofol was allegedly deliberately sold in vials large enough to be reused by doctors, resulting in patients in Las Vegas undergoing colonoscopy procedures developing hepatitis C.
